I really admire that in Scandinavia, everyone wants to save money and spend thriftily. They are humble people and don’t like to be flashy or show wealth. And no matter how much they make or where they live, they love secondhand shopping (hand-me-downs, too).
There are all kinds of thrift and second-hand shops across Copenhagen (and lots for kids’ stuff, too). Getting a good deal feels great, no matter if it’s new or not. And saving the Earth’s resources is so important, too. I even just discovered a secondhand section of my favorite online shop here, too.
On our neighborhood Facebook page, there’s someone almost every week posting a pile of home supplies, clothes or bikes they no longer use and want to find a good new home for.
In summary: Secondhand is good for everyone.
