Happy June, everyone! It feels like we’re moving forward…in some ways.
We are (finally) getting out to take an extended weekend beach trip this week, and I am oh so looking forward to it. I’m just imagining packing a suitcase, buying special treats (like fancy local crackers and Annie’s pop tarts), hopping in the car and driving away to somewhere lovely and different.
We’ve been doing our best to stay in and not get out too much at our house, so this will be a treat. Though we’re going to keep our face masks close and be careful, don’t worry!
I really love seeing what’s popular for all of you who read the blog and cook from it, so I took a peek at the analytics and which posts have been popular since quarantine. It’s interesting but probably not surprising that sweets have been at the top of the list.
Like you, I’ve found myself baking more frequently. I don’t think this is a bad thing as all these treats are shareable, easy and a tasty treat.
So, here are the 3 most viewed recipes on the blog right now:
Apple Crumble Cookies
I’ve actually made these cookies twice myself over quarantine. They are seriously the most simple cookie and so surprisingly tasty with hints of tart apple! Jamie Oliver did it again with this 5-ingredient wonder for a quick cookie.
Tahini No-Bake Cookies
This cookie recipe is from a few years ago, but it totally stands up. If you’re someone who has some tahini laying around, grab it and get ready to make some delish no-bake cookies. You know, the ones with oats and cocoa powder and usually peanut butter. Yeah, these get even more savory and interesting with tahini instead.
If you’re a no-bake cookie purist, then try out this classic recipe.
Banana Loaf
I’m oh so delighted to see this recipe on your top list, because it’s never left mine. Once I tried this banana loaf recipe from sweet Mary Berry, I never went back to any other recipe. It’s cakey and moist and full of simply comforting banana flavor. This one is definitely worth keeping some old bananas around for.
I hope these few recipes get you inspired about baking or help your quarantine go a bit easier in some way. Hang in there — better days ahead, friend.
