Every cook…no, every person should have a go-to pan to cook with.
And if you’re smart, you’ll have a nonstick one. Sure, there are other options than nonstick, but if you want something that food doesn’t stick to (imagine that!) and that doesn’t need a lot of fat, then nonstick should be your go-to.
I remember my first nonstick skillet. It was from TJ Maxx, it had a bright orange bottom, and I think it cost about $12. But, hey, it lasted me a good 9 years, since I just threw it out.
Here’s what you need to know about nonstick pans:
- They don’t last forever! You should replace them every few years.
- If they have a black coating that is coming off, replace them immediately. It’s not safe to cook with them.
- These are worth investing in!
Here’s where I got my new nonstick pans:
I had a set of pans from my wedding that had some good wear and tear and were starting to chip, so I began the journey of looking for new nonstick pans a few months ago.
I was so glad to find these beautiful GreenPan options from Food52. (This is not sponsored, btw.)
Not only are they beautiful blue and gold, but they come in a few sizes (I got the set of two pans). Then, I completed the pans with a set of sauce pans.
Let me tell you, it is amazing how well these pans work!
- They are slick and heat up quickly.
- You just need a little bit or oil or butter to cook with.
- They’re super easy to clean.
I can highly recommend this brand, and I can also highly recommend that you get out your nonstick pans and replace them if they’re more than a few years old.
You, your cooking time and your future meals will thank me!
