People always have struggles with email…and it’s mostly that there’s just too much. I can totally understand this with work email. It can be so overwhelming to feel like you can’t stay on top of 50 emails per day.
But, I also know that some certain emails can lift my spirits and do a great job of introducing me to new things and communicating valuable information.
Although you shouldn’t sign up for every email newsletter or subscription (because you’ll never have time to read all of those), I think it’s a great idea to support people who are doing great things by getting their emails.
Here are a few of my favorite email subscriptions and newsletters in the food world. These emails are gems waiting for me in my inbox throughout the week, giving me a little escape into the kitchen (no matter where I am).
NY Times: What to Cook This Week
I just started getting these emails, and I am so hooked. These are super useful with fun and creative recipe ideas in a sort of story form in paragraphs. This email is a great way to get out of a cooking rut and think outside of the box, even in the middle of your weekly meal plan.

Saveur
With a Recipe of the Day and a Weekend email, Saveur can bring some sophistication and creativity to your inbox with unique recipes. Their photos are also a nice break from the day-to-day bland emails, as well.
The Kitchn
The Kitchn’s email subscription offers easy, fun ideas and food lists to inspire the average home cook. I love how their recipes are super accessible yet still exciting.
Bon Appetit
If you’re a confident home cook, then you should try out the Bon Appetit email newsletter. Whether it’s how to make homemade mayo or 20 recipes with shallots, these emails challenge me to try new things.

The Sporkful
If you would like to “Make your inbox more delicious,” The Sporkful can help you out. This is one of my go-to food podcasts for Dan’s interviewing skills and unique content, and you’ll find the same thing in their emails. I enjoy seeing the food-related articles that they are reading and a list of what they’re currently eating.
