Jason and I have been watching A LOT of Bob’s Burgers lately.
If you haven’t ever watched it, I’m pretty sure that you should.
Bob’s Burgers is a hilarious animated show about a family that owns a restaurant. The jokes and plots are amazing, and there are a ton of foodie puns to go around.
Also, there’s a boy on the show named Jimmy Pesto. So, now when I think or say pesto, my mind goes straight to Jimmy. He also loves to dance and has a lisp, in case you were wondering.
In honor of pesto, here’s a quick and easy recipe for pistou, the Provencal version of pesto that is hearty and fresh. I think the main difference is that you add tomato to this one…and a lot of cheese and garlic. Yum.
Use this pistou on a sandwich, on pasta or in soup (recipe coming soon). There’s no time like the present to harvest your basil leaves, so let’s do this!
