Although we would all like to say that we have a home-cooked (by us) meal every night, I know that’s just not feasible all of the time.
And while I love fresh food, it’s always nice to have some frozen staples on hand for that off night when you don’t feel like cooking or need to add something extra to a meal.
Other than my homemade veggie stock and pie crust scraps, here’s what I like to have in my freezer:
Potstickers
Frozen potstickers are a great thing to have on hand as a side for fried rice or just a quick snack or meal. I really love the Pork Goyza from Trader Joe’s and always have some in the freezer.
Serve with: A dipping sauce of soy sauce and rice vinegar
Frozen Pizza
I know it’s not very foodie of me, but I love a good frozen pizza. There’s nothing like coming home from work on a Friday night and popping a cheesy frozen pizza into the oven to enjoy with a glass of read wine. The Spinach and Goat Cheese pizza from Target is one of my personal favorites.
Serve with: Carrot sticks and hummus or a green salad
Frozen Veggies
It never hurts to have some frozen vegetables in the freezer for a last-minute dip or add-on to your meal. My go-tos are frozen corn and spinach, but there are lots of others to explore.
Serve with: Fried rice (for the corn) and Spinach Artichoke Dip (for the spinach)
Ice Cream
This is a given, but ice cream is always nice to have for a frozen treat. Some of our favorite brands are Haagen-Dazs and Kroger Private Selections.
Serve with: Any dessert, topped with Magic Shell sauce
