Merry Christmas!
One thing that I have been awe struck by this Christmas season is reflecting on how dark the world was when Jesus came into it. I find myself (and maybe the rest of us) imaging the perfection of Jesus’ birth- in a cute little stable with happy animals and a golden pillow for him to lay his head on.
We often neglect to remember how horrible the days were when Jesus came. Just like today, there was death, grief and fear.
This has struck me because I often feel my heart must be perfect, must be completely clean, for Jesus to live in it. But this is not true at all. The world was very dark when the hope of Jesus came in…and my heart was the same way. He brings the true hope and light.
The hope comes
in the bleakest midwinter
into shocking circumstances
into a world of fear
in the midst of our blind darkness
Hope sees the unseen
Hope leads
May you let His hope and light invade your heart today!
