Combos are the best, right?
What’s your favorite combo.
I have so many favorites that I can’t even pick one.
I also like trying recipe mash-ups. Sometimes I go to Google with a really specific recipe idea in mind, and I just need a template or a few recipes to guide me along my way.
For this pie, I combined the idea and crust of this A Beautiful Mess recipe with a pie filling recipe from here in North Carolina featured in Our State Magazine.
And I think it turned out to be a great combo.
The crust (with a little added sugar) was one of the best I’ve ever made: crunchy and soft and not too thick or thin. The insides were sweet and gooey (the way you expect a good Southern pie to be).
