A few weeks ago, I saw that Food52 was asking for recipe testers for their berry recipe contest!
And I ran across this recipe for Legendary Blueberry Biscuits from another North Carolinian. (You can find a recipe headnote from yours truly introducing the recipe.) I knew that I had to try these out!
These fluffy, fruity, decadent biscuits are based on the Bo-berry Biscuits that Bojangle’s makes.
I’ve never had those biscuits, but I’m pretty sure that these are 100 times better.
With Labor Day and then all of the holidays coming upon us, I can definitely see these Blueberry Biscuits making an appearance at your family table. These are best when eaten warm, so a weekend breakfast would be fabulous for these guys.
Although the recipe has a few extra steps than I usually take, I found that these biscuits were so fluffy, moist and not-too-sweet (which leaves room for the icing) that they were totally worth it.
Labor Day brunch?
Thanksgiving breakfast? Christmas with the family?
These Blueberry Biscuits are sure to wow, and if you take the time to save some fresh blueberries in the freezer now, then you’ll be set.
