Summer is a time to enjoy family, friends and lots and lots of fresh, delicious food!
This summer, I’ve found myself making a lot of the blog recipes that I’ve shared with you in the past.
It’s interesting how each time you re-try (or remix, if you will) a dish, you find new tastes and enjoy the meal in new ways.
Kind of like those amazing, electronic remixes that I keep finding on Spotify (Imogen Heap, Bon Iver…I love them!)
Here are some of the think fruitful recipes that I have been loving lately (click on the name to go to the recipe page):
Goat Cheese Custards
I find myself making these each year for my husband’s birthday because he (and I) loves them that much! They’re one of the simplest desserts to throw together and so rich and creamy.
French Toast
Local challah bread (from Yellow Dog Bread Co.) makes french toast even better.
Savory Spiced Nuts
For the perfect, healthy, crazy flavorful snack, these guys are perfect.
My Favorite Summer Breakfast
You can’t go wrong with this combo of fruit and yogurt, and it’s even better if you’ve got some granola handy.
Blueberry Peach Buckle
This was one of the best desserts that I made last year, and I knew when peach/blueberry season rolled around again, I would have to remix it. I also realized that I love this buckle so much because it’s kind of like an almond croissant with fruit in a cake-like form.
Banana Split with Magic Shell Sauce
We remixed my banana split and replaced the hot fudge sauce with magic shell. Extra peanuts, too!
Zucchini Fritters
This is one reason why I’m excited that it’s zucchini season. These fritters are veggie-packed with the perfect crisp texture.
What recipes have you been “remixing” or rediscovering this summer?
