Hello again, folks!
I hope everyone’s new year is starting out fantastically.
I wanted to take this time at the beginning of the year to look at my food resolutions from 2012 and make some new ones for 2013.
Here were my resolutions from last year, only one of which was left unaccomplished. I hosted a few dinner parties this year, I made bread (Rosemary Cheese Buttermilk Biscuits), I have cooked a lot more real meals and Jason and I cook together most weeknights!
So, here are my new food resolutions for 2013:
1. Host a Wine and Cheese Party
The only 1 of the 5 resolutions that I didn’t meet in 2012 was hosting a wine and cheese party. Although Jason and I have had many wine and cheese parties with just the two of us this year I plan to have friends over for a fun, fancy affair.
2. Veg Out
I’ve decided to try eating less meat, which often upsets my stomach, and make lots of more vegetarian meals. I would like to put up more vegetarian meal recipes for those of you who aren’t meat eaters and for those of you who are looking to put more veggies in your daily diet.
3. Mature in Mixology
Although I’ve never featured any drink recipes on the blog, I would like to start mixing up more mocktails and cocktails and sharing the good recipes I happen upon. Cheers to 2013!
4. Make an Indian Meal
I seriously fell in love with Indian breakfasts consisting of chapati and dahl while I was in Burma. If you’ve never had this dish, it is a combo of Indian crepe-like bread and a delicious vegetable stew that you wrap in the bread. It is so comforting and well spiced and I’m determined to make it for myself sometime this year.
5. Become a Better Food Photographer
I’ve been enjoying using my new iPhone camera for my recent food pics, but overall I would like to work on my food photos with my real camera more this year. There are so many food blogs that I drool over the photography and I would like to work on my lighting and styling.
