Do you have recipes in your repertoire that are classically company recipes? They’re those ones that you might not just make for you or your own family, but the special few that are go-tos when you have friends or family over.
For me, these are classically recipes that are crowd-pleasers and don’t leave me in the kitchen cooking for too long. And you know that I have a special few for desserts.
Being a good Southern girl and unabashed apple lover, I know the power of a good apple crisp. Maybe that’s not just a Southern thing, but we sure do have some tasty apples. My favorites are Pink Lady, in case you wanted to know.
I was so excited to stumble upon this Apple Pear Crisp recipe that was a little different than the classic, but tasted so extraordinary.
The grated fresh ginger gives it a nice zing and using the food processor for the crumble is genius. Also, pears and apples are a match made in heaven, and it’s the perfect season to be using both of them.
Don’t forget the vanilla ice cream.
Side note: If you send your husband out to buy ice cream, make sure he gets the good stuff and not light vanilla ice cream.
